Blood Blockade Battlefront returns!!!! After a few month hiatus the Blood Blockade Battlefront (also known as Kekkai Sensen) & Trigun author, Yasuhiro Nightow, returns with part 3 of his manga series. The third part will be titled “Beat 3 Peat” and has been a series that has long since lived on my want-to-read list since its anime ended in December of 2017. Beat 3 Peat of the Blood Blockade Battlefront manga is releasing in the 2022 Autumn issue of Jump SQ.Rise which came out today!

The series originally ran in Jump Square in 2009 and found its end in 2015 in the Jump SQ.19 Magazine. Part 2 which was titled Back 2 Back started its run on July 17, 2015, and ended just this year on April 28th in Jump SQ.Rise. In North America, the manga has been licensed by Dark Horse Comics which began releasing the manga volumes on September 27th, 2011.

The anime was produced by studio Bones with season one premiering on April 4th, 2016. The second season titled Blood Blockade Battlefront & Beyond was announced in December 2016 and officially premiered on October 7th, 2017.

The series revolves around a secret crime-fighting organization known as Libra. The events take place in Hellsalem’s Lot which was formerly known as New York City before a portal to the “Beyond” was opened and thus became a place where the paranormal meets the normal.
