For fans of the Black Clover anime, there has been a severe drought of any sort of news related to the previously announced movie, or the return of the anime. But with Weekly Shonen Jump #45, we now have some upcoming details of the Black Clover Anime Movie “Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King“. The movie is set to release on March 31st, 2023, and will get a Netflix release with an accompanying roadshow release. A roadshow release is when a small number of theaters located in major cities in Japan will release the movie as well.
We got a new illustration of Asta to bring in the exciting news drawn by the author Yuki Tabata himself. Alongside that, we got an illustration for a previous Wizard King named Conrad who will be making an appearance in the upcoming movie and will be voiced by Toshihiko Seki (Muzan from Demon Slayer and Duo Maxwell from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing). No word on the plot of the movie or if it will be canon yet, but with this information, we can confirm it’s not a continuation of the main manga storyline. Here’s hoping we get a tease of the spade arc at the end of this movie!

Created by author Yuki Tabata, Black clover was launched in Weekly Shonen Jump on February 15th. The anime got its first release in Japan in October 2017 with an initial run of 52 episodes and season 2 of the series was picked up in October 2019 and ended with its 170th episode in March 2021.
